Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders often involve both osseous and soft tissue components. This study compared MRI and CBCT in evaluating TMJ soft tissue pathology. Thirty patients with TMJ pain underwent both imaging modalities. MRI provided superior visualization of the articular disc and synovial changes, while CBCT was more accurate for osseous abnormalities. Findings suggest a complementary approach, with MRI for soft tissue evaluation and CBCT for bony assessment, optimizing TMJ disorder diagnosis.
