Digital radiography has revolutionized the field of restorative dentistry, offering numerous benefits over conventional film-based radiography, such as reduced radiation exposure, faster image acquisition, and enhanced diagnostic capabilities. Recent advancements in digital radiography technologies have significantly improved the accuracy, precision, and overall efficiency of restorative dental procedures. This review paper explores the various advancements in digital radiography, including the integration of three-dimensional (3D) imaging modalities like cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), improvements in image resolution, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) for image interpretation. It also examines the impact of these advancements on diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and treatment outcomes in restorative dentistry. By evaluating current trends and emerging technologies, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the role digital radiography plays in modern restorative dental practices.
