Certain specialty medications, including biological agents and anticoagulants, can pose safety risks during MRI procedures. This study implemented a pharmacist-led safety initiative for 180 patients undergoing MRI scans. Interventions included screening for medication-related contraindications, adjusting medication timing, and educating patients on procedural risks. The initiative led to a 40% reduction in MRI-related adverse events and improved compliance with pre-scan safety protocols. The results emphasize the critical role of specialty pharmacists in minimizing risks and enhancing patient safety during advanced imaging procedures.
